Steve Bradley

Steve started DJ’ing at the Post Office Club in York during the late 1960's. He's been into a wide range of music ever since he was young, "but if push came to shove, Soul would always come first". Being born and raised in York, Steve used to frequent the buzzing clubs of that era such as The Heartbeat, The Hypnotique, La Bamba and The Olde Worlde to name but a few. He carried on spinning the vinyl during the ensuing years and returned to the decks in York, several years ago. He was approached by YKSoul to help them with a Charity night and the team was born. It combines a love of "filling the floor" and helping others which is rewarding on both counts. In these days of "What's in it for me", it's a wonderful feeling to see the faces of those people, representing the nominated charity, accepting the money raised for them. The YKSoul team is good together and compliments each other. It’s a pleasure to have the other members there to bounce idea’s off and to work along side of.

Simon Wragg

Simon Wragg is YKSoul’s Graphic Designer. He projects graphics, vintage footage, pictures, charity and YKSoul news at YKSoul events. He also maintains the YKSoul website, and designs event flyers and posters. He has an extensive collection of vintage images from the era, helping to capture the ambience and rekindle memories of soul clubs from the 60s and 70s. As part of a team, Simon also produces graphics at a multi-media church in York http://www.visions-york.org/.

Although Simon is (just) too young to remember soul clubs, and is not a soul record collector, he enjoys some of the music, but does prefer dance, jazz, ambient chill-out, hip hop and funk. His current Top 10 is here.
